Then, search farther down to "To make it usable," after which there is some userChrome.css code that solved the problem, except the magic font size number was (on my computer) 9 points. In any case, if you search for 15" UXGA you'll see an introduction to the font size problem. You may remember that being discussed in the thread "Simplifyng the SM2 Bookmarks list" ( viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1716795), because you contributed to that thread. I was unable to tell SeaMonkey Mail where my mail folders were, because in Mail, Edit, News & Account Settings, Server settings, at the bottom the Local Directory field didn't show. Pim: To digress for a moment, re parts of the user interface being "missing":Īt least sometimes, the problem could be due to font size (which, I have discovered, can be either too large or too small). We've seen that before, where parts of the user interface ended up missing because of a problem. You did say "I didn't see anything about blocking images" so I thought that something was wrong with your SM setup. I've got to go to a meeting now which will consume the rest of the day (California time), but tomorrow I'll check with my ISP and see if things are getting blocked there. I gave permission to display the remote images, and the small box (see previous paragraph) appeared, but without any image in it. Of course, they didn't display, but there was a note at the top of the email that I could display them. Then I downloaded my mail, which included some stuff with corporate logo images. Second: After posting this message and exiting SeaMonkey browser, I opened SeaMonkey mail, went to Edit, Preferences, etc. The image just isn't there, although if the image would be a link to some website, clicking in the box opens SeaMonkey browser and takes me to the website. See my immediately preceding message to Philip Chee for more details.Īn edit: First, I should note that in my messages without images, there always is a small box that shows where the image would go. I think I unchecked (or simply didn't check I don't remember what the default was) that setting when I first set up my mail. Pim wrote:Edit, Preferences, Mail & News, Message Display, that's where it is, yes.Ĭorrect. My old 1.1.18 profile had roots in Netscape Communicator, and maybe in Netscape itself. I didn't use automatic migration because I wanted as clean a setup of 2.0.2 as I could get. _SeaMonkey) led me to think that I could do that, although it's entirely possible that I misunderstood something. I simply used "drag and drop," because MozillaZine's "Transferring data to a new profile" (. I fear that in copying my mail folders from my SeaMonkey 1.1.18 profile to my SM 2.0.2 profile (both, of course, in different locations, albeit both on partition D:) I messed something up. (I just now looked to confirm that.) And I've checked the Windows Secrets website for my own settings, to make sure that I'm supposed to be getting the full version including images, and I am. Philip Chee wrote:Edit -> Preferences -> Mail and Newsgroups -> Message Display -> Block images and other content from remote sources.īut that's already not checked. I would much appreciate any comments, suggestions, or other help. I do have the NoSquint extension installed, and although I think it works only on web pages and not on email, I disabled it and that didn't cause my missing email images to appear. I tried putting the Windows Secrets email address into my Personal Address Book, and checking "Allow remote content," but that didn't give me any images either. Of course, the setting I was looking for could be there, and I simply missed it. I have checked Edit, Preferences, Mail & News Groups, Message Display, and all other categories in Mail & Newsgroups, but I didn't see anything about blocking images.Īfter opening SeaMonkey mail, I have also checked Edit, Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings, and again I didn't see anything about blocking images. This applies not only to my current mail received by SeaMonkey 2.0.2, but also to mail downloaded and saved (in the same folder) when I was using SeaMonkey 1.1.18. In particular, I'm not getting the writers' photographs (no great loss there ), but more important is that I'm not seeing screenshots that illustrate some issue or procedure. (The Windows Secrets website displays images for me with no problem.) Today I discovered that, in the emailed Windows Secrets Newsletter, images that could be coming directly from the internet or that could be already downloaded on to my computer along with the text (I have no idea how to determine which) are not being displayed in the email. I'm gradually getting used to SeaMonkey 2.0.2.
